Installing ADDS & Adding Client



Assigning IP address(static IP)

  1. In local server click on Ethernet 0 assign IP
  2. In manage add roles & features click next.
  3. select role-based or feature-based installation click next.
  4. select a server from the server pool. click next.
  5. select  more roles to install on selected server
    • Active   Directory Domain services. click next.
  6. In ADDS ,click next.
  7. click install
  8. then restart the server.
  9. In yellow exclamation mark click on promote this server to the domain controller.
  10. in deployment configuration, select ‘add new forest’.
    • in root domain name:
    • then assign password:
    • confirm password:
    • click next.
  11. In DNS option click next
  12. In additional options
    • The net bios domain name: sos
  13. In paths, click next
  14. in review options click next
  15. In prequisties check click install to begin installation.
  16. Now the computer will restart automatically.


Now Open window 7

  1. Then open network in sharing Center.
  2. Click on change adapter settings.
  3. In local area connection select properties
    • IPV4
    • properties
    • Assign IP:
    • Prefered DNS:
  4. In system properties
    • change the domain name.
    • computer –>manage –>change name.
    • select domain & write the domain name as click ok.
  5. ping all the systems & check if they are connected with each other.
  6. In server manager go to tools select  ‘Active Directory users & computers’
  7. Now you’ll see your own domain ‘sos’ expand it & right click on users –>new –>user.
  8. Now assign name:
  9. user logon name:
  10. click next –> select password, click next.
  11. Go back to client machine ‘log off’ the user & sign in with other user take user logon name &  password.
  12. After login in server, go to tools for verification & check the users you installed.
